Maiasa Matcha

Restore your body and mind. Matcha is rich in antioxidants, elevates your energy levels and enhances mental focus—qualities that enticed Buddhist monks to incorporate it into their everyday meditation routine for centuries. Its additional abundance of chlorophyll and essential vitamins A, C, E, K and B-complex nourish your body from within and leave you with radiant skin. Indulge in the serene ritual of carefully preparing and savouring a cup of matcha; a moment to pause, reflect, and come back to yourself amidst the turmoil of daily life.

A unique Ceremonial Grade

Only the very first tender, shaded leaves harvested from our fields in the mountainous Sōraku District are used for our Ceremonial Grade Matcha. Unlike other farms, we harvest only once a year, ensuring the optimal health of our fields and plants, and cultivating the most premium leaves over time. Our matcha powder is produced using the traditional stone-grinding technique, distinguishing us as one of the very few remaining companies dedicated to preserving this ancient tradition. Through this method, we abstain from using mechanical heat and embrace the long, slow process to preserve the optimal flavour and quality of our tea.

Our unique, single-origin cultivar grows only in 3% of Japan’s tea cultivation area and is characterised by its vivid green colour and rich, smooth flavour. It is naturally sweet, with no bitterness and has nuanced notes of green pear and mango, and a beautiful umami finish.

How to use

Given the delicate nature of matcha, the use and storage of smaller quantities is recommended to maintain its freshness for each serving. Store opened pouches in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
