Our Hojicha is exclusively crafted from the youngest and freshest leaves of the first flush (harvest). After de-stemming and de-veining, the stems undergo the roasting process that brings out their unique flavour.

How to use

To prepare a serving, use 5 grams of tea. Place the stems in your preferred brewing vessel and pour 200 ml of hot water at 90°C – 100°C over them in circular motions. Steep the tea for approximately 45 seconds to 1 minute. For a sweeter umami profile, consider using water at a slightly lower temperature, around 80°C – 90°C. Enjoy both hot and cold – it suits this tea very well to serve once cooled, over ice. A single serving can be brewed multiple times to savour different sweet and roast-y notes with each cup.
