Our tencha is known for its rich sweetness, deep umami, and delicate light jade colour. It is cultivated to meet the highest standards of quality and taste, akin to our Ceremonial Grade Matcha. Following harvest, the Tencha leaves undergo precise steaming at 200°C to halt oxidation, preserving their vibrant green color and delicate structure. Each leaf is meticulously dried to maintain its unique flat and crumbly texture, ensuring optimal freshness and flavour for your brewing at home.

How to use

To prepare a serving, use 7-8 grams of leaves. Place in a teapot and pour 200ml of warm water 60°C – 70°C over the leaves in gentle, circular motions. Allow the tea to steep for 1.5-2 minutes. For a deeper and mellower flavour experience, extend the brewing time to 2.5-3 minutes. Adjusting the water temperature towards a lower degree (50°C – 60°C) will enhance the tea’s natural sweetness and umami profile. A single serving can be brewed multiple times to savour evolving flavour and complexity with every subsequent brew.
